I find that with everything available, everywhere, it can be overwhelming to find a movie to watch. While there’s more good art made now that ever before, it’s hard to find and discover.
Going on IMDB and finding a movie by an actor or actress that you like is a way that I’ve addressed this problem. And did so earlier this week by watching “The Long Kiss Goodnight” with Samuel L Jackson and Genna Davis.
The plot is right out of the 90s. A government assassin with amnesia, trying to right the wrongs of her past life. Samuel L Jackson plays Mitch Hennessy (which might be my new fake name to use at starbucks). Throughout the movie they’re each shot, shoot so many people without consequence, and thwart a terrorist attack while delivering cheese dialogue.
But by far the highlight of the movie is the last few minutes, where a recovered Mitch Hennessy is a guest on Larry King’s cable talk show. Shooting with Larry King, it appears that Samuel L Jackson might have slipped this joke in there as an ad-lib as it’s made me laugh all week.
skip to 1:27 to watch this scene. It’s worth the rest of the movie!
Overall the movie is in the spirit of Con Air and other 90s blockbusters. Highly recommend!
